Completing progress reports - staff

Staff Guidelines for Completing Online Reports in the Postgraduate Records database
- Log-in to SPIDER as normal
- Go to tools and under Databases click on postgraduate records
Option 1[edit | edit source]
- Click on Progress & Reports
- you will see a list of your students, alongside their reports. A traffic light system indicates the status of each report:
red - not started amber - in progress and saved green - completed
each square represents the status as it applies to the individuals who need to complete the various sections in each report. Reports with a red border on a pink background are overdue, a green border on pale grey are completed and those with a black border on a dark grey background indicates reports in the future which are not yet due.
click on the report you wish to complete, and you can then fill in the report - see Complete the report, below
Option 2[edit | edit source]
- click on the View/ edit records link
- under the My Students heading, click on the student who's report you wish to complete
- Click on the Reports & PDP tab
- Click on edit next to the report you wish to complete
Complete the report[edit | edit source]
- select relevant options and enter your comments in the form. If a section is 'greyed out' then it should be completed by another user - in the form below, the supervisor completes the first 8 questions, the student the next and the final part by the HoD.
- click save to store your changes to resume later; click submit to save and mark your contribution as completed - you cannot make changes to a submitted report.
